It's been a crazy past few months with so much going on, that I haven't had a chance to share this project with you yet. This is my Rainbow Stripes quilt that I designed for Quilty Magazine. It's a really easy project for a beginner quilter and it's a super fast project for those with more experience.
The project appeared in the January/February 2012 issue of Quilty which can be purchased on their website here. Or, if you'd prefer, you can purchase a digital copy of my quilt pattern here.
And here are some more photos of my quilt, in progress. I quilted it with my favorite straight lines, using white quilting thread, on my domestic sewing machine. Each line is about 3/8" apart, and even though it is so much work, I really love the effect that it gives the finished project.
I didn't want anything to compete with the rainbow stripes on the front so I used a solid gray fabric for the backing and white fabric for the binding.
And here's the finished quilt in our back yard.
I really love the bright pops of color and I'm so glad that I finally have this quilt back with me. It's a keeper, for sure.
