Are you familiar with FOLK Magazine? If not, you should be. I'm a huge fan of the people at FOLK Magazine and I'm so excited to be able to share their work with you. FOLK Magazine was founded by Ben Ashby, the editor in chief and CEO (who, I may add, is still a college student, which is so great!), and their motto is to live authentic. Here's how Ben describes FOLK on their site:
So great, right? It's been so cold in southwest Ohio lately, and I've really been longing a bit of Spring, so I was excited to receive the Spring issue a bit early to review for you. First of all, I really love the look and feel of the magazine. Secondly, as a visual person, I'm really drawn to the photography in each issue. All of the images are beautiful, and they often capture simple day to day scenes which are transcended to exquisite moments in time.
Case in point. And this totally makes me want to buy a few sheep for our new house.
The stories are what capture your heart, though. From the tale of a young couple who leaves the big city to start a family and a handmade business in the foothills of the Appalachians in rural North Carolina, to an interview with Ben's childhood idol Leann Rimes, and really everything in between. There are features on artisan Lori Ann Corelis, author and gardner Margaret Roach, musician Greg Sczebel, designer Melody Doyel, and much more. There are stories about a mushroom farmer in New York, a shop owner in Portland, Oregon, an antique store in Nebraska, and a sheep farm in Massachusetts. And more. Plus there are some great recipes and fun craft and DIY projects, too. I'm totally going to make an old ladder stand for the new house, but instead of plants (as suggested) I think I'm going to display some of my vintage quilts on it.
Ben and the team at FOLK are offering a great deal on their subscriptions as well. Just enter the code #FOLK for 50% off of the regular price. You can purchase your subscription here.
Plus, I'm giving away a subscription to one lucky reader. To enter, please leave a comment below. The giveaway will end on Thursday, March 7th, 2013 at midnight ET. Please be sure to include your email address in your comment if your blogger profile doesn't include it, so I can contact you if you're the winner.
Be sure to check out FOLK Magazine on Facebook, twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram for daily doses of inspiration, too!

Thanks for pointing out this new magazine! Since I'm from the Appalachian area I will definitely have to check out that article. Interesting how these tech saavy "kids" are now going back to the roots of their ancestors.
