making progress

A couple of days ago I shared a photo of the next project that I'm working on. I'm using three of Amy Butler's new prints from her Alchemy line of organic fabrics for Westminster Fibers, and a dark lavender solid. The design I came up with for this quilt is really pretty simple, but it has a strong visual
impact, which is right up my alley.

I'm making a series of large hexagons that will be appliqued onto the base of the quilt. The hexagons are 14" and I've created my own template to make them. It's a bit of a slow going process, but I'm piecing the hexagons by machine, instead of by hand, so I'm gaining some speed in that step.
I'm really excited about how this one is turning out and I can't wait to share it with you all when it's done! The pattern will be available as a free download here, as well as on the Coats and Clark website.
