A group of members from the Cincinnati Modern Quilt Guild is taking part in an exhibition of selected works titled "A Common Thread." If you are in the Cincinnati area, please join us tomorrow, August 16 from 5-7 pm, for the opening at the Global Novations Art Gallery.
I've been working with local curator Steven V. Clark for a few months on this project and it will be great to finally see it all come together. It's always a challenge to put these things together; Steven made the final decision on what works were selected, and then it was my job to coordinate everything else. And it's always a lot of work, from notifying everyone, to organizing the pick up and delivery of the quilts to the gallery space, and not to mention hand-sewing all of those sleeves (which is definitely not one of my favorite things to do), but it's always worth it in the end. I have a few works in the show, including my Pinwheel Spinning Around quilt, shown above. I'll be sure to take photos of the exhibition and share them with you all here.
Hope to see some of you tomorrow evening, as well!
