I'm finally back in the swing of things after a little road trip to Tennessee, and thought it would be fun to share some pics with you. The whole experience was so inspiring and I made memories that will last with me forever.
I met up with my friend Heidi and we had a great time chatting in the car. And I took lots of photos as she drove. I loved this bridge over the Ohio River as we crossed from Ohio to West Virginia.
And this great barn quilt, somewhere in West Virginia.
Once Heidi and I met up with Amy at the lake, we just couldn't believe how beautiful it was.
Seriously. It was heaven on earth. And I never got tired of looking at that view...
The color of the water was gorgeous too, and would change from a teal-ish blue, to a more slate colored blue, depending on the time of day.
Breathtaking, right?
We spent a lot of time in the sun, and I got a bit burned. And in fact, I'm still peeling...
We went on a mini road trip in the surrounding countryside,
which was just about as magical as our lake view.
We went on a walk and saw another fun barn quilt....
and some beautiful wildflowers.
I spent a lot of time in these rockers, just taking it all in...
and I did a little hand piecing of some improv blocks while I was there.
We took a little trip into Boone, NC for dinner on our last night together, and I found another barn quilt on our way.
We hung out with Boone native Doc Watson for a bit...
before getting back on the snakey mountain roads.
On our way home we found the Appalachian Trail...
and we hit the Tri-Cities Flea Market outside of Bristol. I can't wait to show you what I found there! The goods need a little more airing out, but I'll show them to you soon.
All in all, it was an amazing time. And I'm refreshed and ready to get back to work!
