2012 modern barn quilt paint along

Are you ready to paint again? I'm so excited to be hosting another modern barn quilt paint along this year! I had so much fun with the project last year, so I thought it would be great to do it again, and I encourage you all to join in the fun. This paint along is pretty low key, because after all, creating should be fun, so feel free to go at your own pace throughout the next few months.

If you'd like to start gathering your supplies, here's what you'll need.

+ plywood cut to the size you'd like your finished sign to be (mine is 2' x 2' )
+ primer
+ assorted acrylic paints
+ assorted brushes
+ pencil
+ ruler
+ blue painter's tape
+ exacto knife
+ waterproof sealer (if your sign will be hung outside)
+ hairdryer (optional)
+ your choice of hanging device (I used d-rings and screws)

For my sign I'm going to use 1/4'' pine plywood that is pre-cut to 24'' x 24''. I bought mine from Home Depot for less than $6. Look for it in the lumber aisle.

Last year I made a wonky log cabin style block for my modern barn quilt. I'm not sure what I'll do this year, so I'll be sharing some inspiration shots for some ideas in the next few days. And don't worry if you've never painted before! This is such a fun and easy project, and you really can't go wrong. I promise, it will be lots of fun, and in the end, you'll have an amazing modern barn quilt to display.
