the most amazing quilting by Angela Walters

I recently asked my friend Angela Walters of Quilting Is My Therapy if she could quilt something of mine fairly quickly. I had a particular quilt in mind that I had designed for a project with a fast approaching deadline that the Cincinnati Modern Quilt Guild is working on, and I really wanted her to quilt it for me. I've been a huge fan of her work since the first time I saw it, but I've never had her quilt anything of mine before, and I thought this project would be perfect. The quilt has a lot of "blank space" due to it's simple construction and large scale, so I gave Angela free reign to do whatever she wanted. And this is the amazingness that arrived on my doorstep last week.

I took the quilt up to the gallery at the University of Dayton (where my husband teaches) last week to photograph it there. It was so fun to see it hanging on the wall. But I need to work on getting my colors correct--perhaps I should read that camera manual after all. The colors of the quilt--Kona SnowKona Coral, and Kona Ice Frappe-- are much more vibrant in person.

And here is the back. I love how the design of the front shows through to the back.

I'm beyond blown away with Angela's quilting. Seriously. These photos do not do the it justice, and I wish you could all see this quilt in person. I know it would take your breath away! If you're looking for someone to professionally quilt something of yours, I cannot recommend Angela enough. Her work is by far the most amazing quilting that I have ever seen.
