my cosmic burst quilt top

Finally! I'm finished with my Cosmic Burst quilt top. You might remember that my friend Mark Cesarik graciously sent me a stack of 5" squares of his new line, Cosmic Burst, to play with a couple of months ago. And can I just say that I think Cosmic Burst is the best name ever for this line?? The colors are so bright and saturated, so I knew that I wanted to combine them with white fabric to really make them pop. I opted to make a bunch of half-square triangles with the squares and I really loved the vertical orientation of the blocks.

The three white zig zag stripes of the negative space really stand out against the colorful prints!

I'm not sure how I'll quilt this yet, or what I'll use for the binding. Do you have any suggestions? Cosmic Burst is shipping to stores this month, so be sure to ask your independent fabric store to carry it!

can you do a scrappy binding, with maybe 20" of some of the different fabrics...

Great quilt and great fabric. I haven't bought any yet but I've been thinking of getting some black and white fabric ( stripes, dots, writing) to try on some of my more colorful quilts. Maybe that?
