Last night the Cincinnati Modern Quilt Guild had our monthly meeting. Our guild is working on a big exhibition and a lot of our members are making quilts that will be on display next Spring. But the quilts need to be finished by January 1, and I honestly haven't even really had the chance to give much thought to the design of mine. So, feeling a bit inspired by our meeting, I went to work late last night and began sketching. I'm not exactly sure that I'm going to stick to the red, white, and aqua color scheme, but I had fun playing around with those colors.
For the exhibition we are all making quilts that have a modern take on a traditional block, so it will be really fun to see how everyone interprets that challenge. Right now I'm thinking large scale blocks, and most likely solid cottons, but I'm also toying with the idea of working really scrappy and kind of creating my fabric out of lots of little pieces of fabric in similar colors and tones. Hmmmm.....decisions, decisions.
