vintage quilt love

I absolutely love vintage quilts. While I consider myself a modern quilter, I'm often inspired by designs and even fabrics found in vintage quilts. I've collected some when I could, starting with one I purchased from my great-aunt's antique store as a teenager, and I still have my very first quilt that was made for me as a baby by my great-great aunt Ollie.

So, I thought it would be fun to share a vintage quilt with you all each week. Every Monday I'll post about a new one, starting with the ones from my own collection and then we'll see where we end up. Sound fun? I think it will be and I hope you do too!

this is a really fun idea!

I actually found a gorgeous vintage sunbonnet sue baby quilt on etsy for only $20! I adore it, and will probably hang it in a baby's room someday, when I have one!

I LOVE vintage quilts. All my quilts are modern but I'm totally inspired by quilts from the past. They're the most wonderful thing to stumble across in one of those hole-in-the-whole vintage shops. So full of history....

I have one from my family I dearly love. It's love-worn but beautiful and has been with me for years.

I love that you have a quilt made by your great great grandma...I've been making quilts for my new nieces and nephews starting on the quilts before they are born. It's my desire they know that even before they came to be they were loved and cherished.
