work in progress

Here are a few photos of the quilt I'm working on now. This is a big one, measuring roughly 80'' by 100'' once it's finished, which I think makes it the biggest quilt I've ever made.

I'm using all solids in the quilt and the blocks are each 20 inches square, so it's coming together pretty quickly.

The design of each block is a combination of improvisational piecing to construct each cross section, which is then added to four large cream squares.

And then squared up to size. I love this big square template.

And I love the little pops of blue.

I'm pretty happy with how it's turning out so far, although honestly I'm a little nervous to start quilting it. It's BIG. I think I'm going to try to tackle it on my Old Blue, after a little more practice time on the machine.
