getting ready for class

I'm so excited to let you know that I'll be teaching an Into to Modern Quilting class at Sewn Studio in Cincinnati! The six week course starts next month, and I'm busy working on the sample project of the pattern we'll be completing in class. We're using Elizabeth Hartman's fabulous book, The Practical Guide to Patchwork: New Basics for the Modern Quiltmaker as a guide, and each student will receive their own copy, which will be a handy reference tool for them as they progress as quilters. Students in my class will be making a lap sized quilt, using one of Elizabeth's patterns in the book.

The course will cover quilt making basics, tips on choosing fabrics, techniques on quilting and binding and more, and I'll be helping students through every step along the way. The class will be held on Wednesdays from 6:00-8:30 pm and begin on May 18th. For more information or to sign up, please visit Sewn Studio's Facebook page or call them at 513-321-0600. Hope to see you there!

I would totally take this class with you if I were local! Will you be serving some Aglamesis ice cream as a treat in class? If so, then I might have to make the 6 hour drive! Have fun teaching - can't wait to see how your sample project turns out with those fun fabrics, too.
