{ quilt blocks for Kate McRae }

A few weeks ago I was reading the blog of Jenny Garland, who is an awesome crafter and one of my twitter friends, and I came across her post on making a quilt for Kate McRae and her siblings. Kate is a six year old little girl who was diagnosed with brain cancer in June 2009.

I immediately knew I had to contribute to this project for Kate. I was so moved and honored { and humbled } to have taken part in the Love for Layla Grace project, and I feel the same way about this one. Here are the blocks that I sent to Jenny that will be included in the quilts.

I know that making a few blocks for a quilt isn't much, but to me it's a means to show my support for Kate and the McRae family, and my prayers for Kate's health, healing, and treatment. No child should have to go through something like this, and while I know it's not much, my hope is that I'm helping just a bit to raise awareness of pediatric brain cancer so that one day a cure will be found. Please visit { and support } The Cure Starts Now for more information on the fight against pediatric brain cancer.
