{ pineapple upside down cake }





My late grandfather's birthday is coming up, and I've been thinking a lot about him the past few days. So, in honor of him, I wanted to make a pineapple upside down cake, which was his absolute favorite, with Aidan and Olivia. I had a fresh pineapple on hand, so I found a recipe for one on Martha's website and we went to town.


{ can I just tell you that I love my vintage Kitchen Aid? }




{ it belonged to my grandmother, and it has to be from the 60s, if not earlier, back when they were still made in Ohio }




{ is there anything better than fresh pineapple? I think not }




{ especially when there is extra for Aidan and Olivia to eat }

{ it just doesn't compare to the real thing }




{ the recipe called for sour cream, but I substituted that with plain yogurt }

{ seriously, this is the best pineapple upside down cake I've ever had }
