{ yield }

I have to start off by saying that I am so excited about this quilt. From it's inception, which started off as a burst of inspiration after seeing a grid in a Walmart parking lot, to the work in progress, to the photo shoot yesterday, I've been thinking about this project almost daily for a couple of months now.

Measuring roughly 62 inches by 67 inches, it's the largest quilt I've made, the first quit I've made entirely out of solid fabrics, and I'm planning on it being the first actual pattern that I produce. It's also my entry for Project Modern: Challenge 1.

The {yield} quilt is made of Moda Bella solids, in Weathered Teak, Robin's Egg Blue, Orange, and Pistachio. The back is pieced with those fabrics as well as Kona Cotton in Ash by Robert Kaufman.

Thank you, Cherri for opening my eyes to quilting with solids. After this, it's going to be hard to go back to prints.

WOW! I've been trying to figure out what inspired your BEAUTIFUL quilt - and you did not disappoint! I love that your inspiration is so so mundane and ordinary - and it turns out to be a hidden treasure!

I love, love, love your quilt, Heather!

It is SO awesome! I LOVE the peek of the back too! Can't wait to see what else is swirling around in your head since you find inspirtation in the most common place of all. Wonderful! Truly!

It's truly outstanding. I'm finding myself wanting to see the backside too....you showed a hint of it, which is just enough to make me want to see the rest! :-)

Gorgeous! Inspiration can come from the strangest places. I was actually inspired twice today by Kleenex boxes!
