{ work in progress }

I've been wanting to make a quilt out of solid fabrics for quite some time now. But I have to say that my desire increased ten-fold after admiring all of the beauties in Cherri House's new book City Quilts. And again after attending Cherri's school house at Quilt Market in Houston {more on that in another post}. So, I finally have started one and here are a few sneak peeks.

I drew up this pattern after seeing a grid in a parking lot. But not just any parking lot. Wal-mart's parking lot, no less. I'm not a big fan of that place, but I'm sure glad I happened to have my sketch book handy that day a couple of months ago.

I'm hoping to have the quilt finished soon, so I'll share pictures as soon as it's done!

I saw the book and it appears you have a unique point of view. When you post the final picture, could you please explain how you chose these interesting colors. Thanks.
