{ yummy unicorns }

I'm a big fan of the work of Melissa Averinos of Yummy Goods. I've read her blog for a couple of years and have gotten to know her a bit through the Bronte Along, which she and Beth Dunn co-founded. Melissa's first book, Small Stash Sewing just came out and I was so excited to get my copy.

There are so many fun projects in it! One of my favorites is an owl pillow, Owlie McPillowpants, which I was planning on making as my first project for the kids. But, as soon as Aidan and Olivia saw the Unicorn *Hearts* Moon pillow projects, they both begged for a unicorn. They even helped me choose the fabrics for them. Here are some sneak peeks of the works in progress.

For a super-cute preview of the book, check out this video by Melissa and Beth on Amazon's site.

{ Cincinnati Modern Quilt Guild }

I'm not sure if I've shared with you all that I'm the founder and current president of the Cincinnati Modern Quilt Guild. We're still pretty new, having only been together for a few months, but we have a fantastic group of members so far. We have been meeting at the home of one of our members, which works out really well for us. Our members are great, and I feel very fortunate to have met them all, and I'm excited about what the future holds for our little group.

Here are a few photos from our last meeting.

See, check out all the fun we have! We meet the second Wednesday of the month, so our next meeting will be held on August 11. Please let me know if you're interested in attending the next meeting or if you'd like more information on the CMQG. We'd love to have you!

{ full bloom }

Our garden is in full bloom! We don't have a big yard at all, and most of our gardens are filled with flowers, with some planted containers and baskets thrown in too. I like to think that I have a bit of a green thumb, but I can't take credit for any of these beauties this year. Jeff has planted, watered, and fed everything. Good thing he's got a green thumb too. He planted all of the sunflowers around his studio from seed and they're amazing. The bees like them too, as you can see.

Here's a little tour of what's blooming these days.

{ www.oliveandollie.com is now open! }

That's right! After owning the domain for, let's see, three years or so I think, I finally have www.oliveandollie.com up and running! It's still a bit of a work in progress, but it's live. I'll still be on etsy as well, but I've wanted my very own site for a while.

And to celebrate my feature on Where Women Create, I'm offering a 10% discount on all orders at www.oliveandollie.com through the month of July. Just type in WWC10 at checkout and I'll send you the refund through Paypal. It's my little way to say thank you for all of the support and encouragement throughout the past few years. I couldn't have done it without you all!

{ featured artist on where women create }

Little old me, seriously . I am honestly so humbled and incredibly grateful that the wonderful women at Where Women Create asked me to be a featured artist on their blog. I felt a little awkward writing about myself, but I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Go take a look at it! They are also hosting a giveaway to my { new } site, www.oliveandollie.com which is finally live. Yay! You'll have to hurry though, because you only have until tomorrow, July 6 at noon MST. But if you don't win, I'm also offering a discount to their readers for 10% off anything from my new shop. Check out their blog for details. Good luck! And thank you again, to Jo, Paige, and everyone else at Where Women Create.
