{ sneak peek }

I am so excited about this new dress, and I had to share a sneak peek with you before I even have had a chance to list it in my etsy shop. It's made out of two Amy Butler fabrics, one that is brand new and an older one. I love the combination of the two; it's a little funky, really fun, and I think it's pretty cute. I may have to make something for myself out of these two prints.

{ a few Christmas goodies }

Now that Christmas is over, I can finally share some of my projects that I gave as gifts! I made everyone in the house new stockings, and I'm really pleased with how they turned out. I had made some last year, but I used Christmas fabrics in shades of red and green, and I just wanted something different and more personalized this year. So, I made these using a mix of fun fabrics and I feel like they are more personalized than the old ones.

And here's what they look like hung on our mantel.

I also made some patchwork scarves. This is another project that I've done in the past, but this year I made them longer and wider, and alternated squares and rectangles along the length. I made this one for my sister, and I love the fresh mix of fabrics together!

I'm thinking of making a few of these for my etsy shop, so keep you eyes out for them soon!

{ it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas }

Everywhere you go! At least it is here. We are getting in the spirit and making new memories, and taking part in old traditions as well. It's so fun this year because Aidan and Olivia are both so excited about the holidays.

We've been making gingerbread cookies.

We've gone to the Festival of Lights at the Cincinnati Zoo.

We've gone to Krohn Conservatory (one of my favorite places in the city) and the kids loved the live manger scene. That was always one of my favorite parts of Christmas as a kid, too.

And I'm busy making lots of things for Christmas. Aidan loves the movie The Small One, which is a vintage Disney story about the donkey that carries Mary to Bethlehem. If you have a few minutes, it's worth the watch.

So, I'm making him my version of Small One, using a vintage horse pattern that I have. I've tweaked it a bit to make the ears longer and I also added a tail. He'll have a tuft of hair on the top of hid head too, just like in the movie.

I'm also making new stockings for everyone, too. I made some last year, using Michael Miller's Funky Christmas fabrics, but this year I wanted to use some fabrics that weren't just green and red. These are much more my style, and here a few pictures of the works in progress.

{ no tears this year! }

We took Aidan and Olivia to see Santa the other day, and I was wondering if we'd have a repeat of last year...i.e., poor Olivia in tears, and Aidan, sort of in shock. I'm happy to report that we did not! They both did great. Sure, Olivia was a bit apprehensive, but Aidan was super excited to meet the big man. He even told him that he wants a big Woody doll and a big Buzz Lightyear doll for Christmas.

P.S. Do you think they'll hate me one day for making them wear coordinating outfits? ;)

Here's last year's for comparison. My how they've grown.
